Rich and powerful, combining new world intensity and bold fruit with old world structure and finesse. This wine has loads of ripe blackberry, red cherry and blackcurrant flavours with hints of mint and violet aromas and deep layers of dark chocolate. The French oak is very well integrated with a smooth palate and lengthy finish.
This wine's more subtle fruit, tabacco and spice flavours are elevated by the fat, protein and peppery spice in more flavourful cuts, such as ribeye and flat iron. Dishes that are cooked in red wine and combinations of meat and cheese are also successful.
