Merlot vines grown on the northern and southern faces of the Langeberg mountain on sandstone and shale soils are used to create this medium full-bodied Merlot. Merlot bunches harvested from the Langeberg/Garcia ward on bokkeveld shale ripens faster and produces small berries of intense flavour, depth, and colour. Merlot from the Herbertsdale ward ripens slower with cooler weather and fog covering the vines from the Indian ocean in the morning bringing freshness and fruit to the wine.
