Elegant and complex on the nose with notes of ripe red berries and hints of fynbos/garigue. A savoury touch is added by notes of black pepper. The red berry character follows through on the palate with beckoning raspberry and cherry flavours as well as a touch of savoury spice. Fine, dry tannins allow for a lean, lingering finish.
Pizza with all its various toppings (but not too much chilli), all traditionally prepared meat dishes (i.e. stews and grills), grilled or roasted game fish (ideally without a lemon based sauce) or for pudding. Pears in red wine will find a partner in this versatile wine.
