MORE INFORMATION:
The Kogelberg Chenin Blanc is from a registered Single-vineyard block nestled in the picturesque Elgin region. The wine is named after the UNESCO biosphere where the vineyards are grown, stated to have the most diverse flora in the world. Grown with meticulous care and nurtured by the cool climate boasting a harmonious balance of vibrant fruit flavours and tantalizing acidity that speak of its terroir and the dedication of our team. The grapes were handpicked early in the morning and transported to Vrede en Lust in 500 kg bins. The fruit is crushed, pressed and settled in stainless steel tanks. After this, the juice is fermented in 225 and 500 litre French oak barrels. The wine stays on the lees for 10 months prior bottling.
Chenin Blanc showcases its cool climate origins with a vibrant and lively character. Crisp flavours of green apple and juicy pear take centre stage. The wines well-balanced acidity enhances its lively nature, while a gentle touch of stone fruit, such as white peach and nectarine, adds depth and complexity. Its bright acidity and fresh fruit flavours makes it an ideal companion to sea food. It complements light and creamy cheeses, like brie. Enjoy it with a summer vegetable risotto or a light Thai curry for a harmonious pairing that showcases the wine's versatility and enhances the overall dining experience.
