MORE INFORMATION:
Wilderer Fynbos Gin showcases the richness of the Cape Floral Kingdom through its unique use of fynbos—a term for the indigenous shrubland vegetation found in the Western Cape. The gin is distilled by Wilderer Distillery, known for its high-quality, small-batch spirits. Tasting Notes – Wilderer Fynbos Gin Nose (Aroma): Fresh and floral, with dominant notes of wild herbs and indigenous fynbos. Subtle citrus zest (lemon, lime peel) brightens the bouquet. Hints of juniper, honeybush, and a gentle spice—possibly clove or coriander. A faint earthiness from the local botanicals that grounds the aroma. Palate (Taste): Smooth and complex entry with herbal and floral tones. Juniper is present but not overpowering—balanced by fynbos botanicals like buchu and wild rosemary. Gentle citrus peel bitterness with layers of sweet spice and earthy pine. A slightly sweet, resinous character mid-palate, adding texture and richness. Finish: Long, clean, and slightly peppery. Leaves a lingering impression of fresh herbs, lemon verbena, and a whisper of floral tea. Overall Impression: Wilderer Fynbos Gin is an elegant, terroir-driven spirit that offers a well-balanced interplay of native flora, juniper, and citrus. It works beautifully in classic gin cocktails (like a G&T or Negroni) but also shines sipped neat or with a splash of tonic.

Goat’s cheese, Brie, or Camembert Bresaola, prosciutto, or biltong. Figs, green olives, and rosemary crackers. Grilled prawns with lemon and herbs. Smoked salmon on rye with cream cheese and capers. Sushi or sashimi, especially with citrusy ponzu sauce. Rocket, beetroot, and goat cheese salad with a citrus vinaigrette. Cucumber and mint salad with yogurt dressing. Tabbouleh with parsley, mint, and lemon. Bobotie (mildly curried mince with egg topping) Snoek pâté on melba toast. Cape Malay curry, lightly spiced and not too hot. Lemon tart or citrus sorbet
