floral notes. Hints of smokiness and bacon. Integrated oak,
really alluring nose. The palate has a rich and silky texture. Well-managed and accessible tannins, balances very well with the acid, fruit and alcohol. Shows interesting complexity, with a prominent
spiciness. On the finish, a tinge of sour fruit. A longish, warm
finish in general.
Staanspoor Syrah would pair well with hearty, flavorful dishes. Grilled meats like steak or lamb and even beef stew as well as dishes featuring roasted mushrooms, especially with savory herbs would complement the wine's earthy notes. For a more decadent pairing, dark chocolate could work well.
